• Question: Have you ever met any famous scientist?

      Yeah, i presented some of my research at a poster competition in the houses of parliament earlier this year and met Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Brian Cox. I’ve seen a fair number of talks given by celebrity scientists like Robert Winston, Kathy Sykes, Simon Singh, but haven’t actually met them. I also saw Stephen Hawking when he came to Oxford but again, i didn’t get to meet him.

      I used to work in the same group with Stephen Hawking.

    Arttu – what were you working on with Stephen Hawking? Can you tell us a bit more about what it was like working with him. The only experience I’ve had of him (other than through his books) is seeing that lecture he gave to a packed Royal Albert Hall! He is a truly amazing man!
