• Question: If the Sun winked out instantaneously and stopped shining light and warmth suddenly, would Earth immediately begin freezing the moment the last rays of light hit Earth? How long would it take for the planet to freeze?

      The Earth would not freeze immediately. After all, we go several hours without sunlight every night, and the temperature does not drop too dramatically. I guess that it would take several days until normal life would become impossible. Then again, I am from Finland, so I am used to darkness and cold weather…
