      I quite like the look of this area of physics called meta-materials. The idea is that if you can give a material certain structures which are smaller than the wavelength of light (so probably less than 200nanometres) they start to do really interesting things to light (if you get it right). One of these things is to bend light around the material, perfectly. This would make it act a lot like an invisibility cloak. Also (and more interestingly, I think) you could make lenses that work absolutely perfectly.
