• Question: What are the most exciting problems to solve in cosmology?

      In my view, the most exciting problems involve how it all started. Did time actually have a beginning, and what happened at that first instant, or has the universe actually existed forever in some form? Where did all the matter come from (since we have strong reasons to believe that there was none when the universe was very young)? These could also help us understand the fundamental laws of nature better.
