What is your opinion on the idea that Michael Faraday first proposed; that gravity is somehow related to electricity

Question: What is your opinion on the idea that Michael Faraday first proposed; that gravity is somehow related to electricity (or more likely, quantum electrodynamics, if we are to use modern terminology). We already know that all phenomena apart from gravity and nuclear physics/radioactivity are described by quantum electrodynamics, and it's always seemed to me that gravity seems like such an odd force, standing all on it's lonesome. So really, basically, do you think that gravity and quantum electrodynamics are in anyway related, or will ever be found to be so? Also, opinions on the above topic would be welcome, even if you don't agree/think they are in any way related.

  I think it is almost certain that they are somehow related, and that we will some day have a “theory of everything” that describes both. One example of such a theory is superstring theory.
