  Do you mean the best scientific thing, or the best thing whilst being a scientist? The scientific thing I was most pleased with was writing a simulation of a particular collision process when I was a student. The analyses of LHC data will be more pleasing, but is not finished yet.
  
  The best non-scientific thing whilst being a scientist was living in a skyscraper in Chicago when I was a student at Fermilab.
